I realised, I forgot to actually tell you all what a chicken wire egg frame is...🤦🏼‍♀️🤣
Simply put?..... It's a bundle of chicken wire in the shape of an egg that you can poke your stems through to give your bouquet more stability and shape.

Throwback to Valentine's 2025, when I was working out of my dining room.
Fast forward a year, and I'm lucky enough to now have my flower shed workshop and it's been an absolute game changer.

Becoming a Florist was never on my radar, it just happened.
One minute, I was a Wedding & Portrait Photographer, the next I was moving 200 miles from the south of England to the south of Wales to start a new life.

I have always been in customer facing industries ever since I started work at 15.
Hospitality & Catering, Photography, Gardner, Party Shop Assistant and now Floristry.
I guess I have always been destined to assist people in some way.

I have always had a passion for Gardening and Flowers, but always just dabbled, I never really committed to it.
That is until we moved to Wales, and I finally had the life to embrace it.

The initial plan was to just grow pretty flowers for ourselves to enjoy, but that very quickly became an obsession.
I started selling cut flower bouquets in the summer months, and I suddenly released the inner florist that had obviously been hiding inside of me forever.

It occurred to me that I had not only released my inner florist, I had released my one true passion.
Without sounding corny, I can honestly say Floristry is the one career in my life
that feels right.
I've done lots of things over the years, but deep down nothing ever sat right...I never felt good enough.
But Floristry....welll that's changed me.
I have a belief in myself that I've never had, I have a passion for it that strives me to be bigger and better.

Because I absolutely bloody adore it!
I have found my 'thing', and only time will tell where it takes me.

2025...well what can I say?
It's been the toughest but most successful year for us.
Mentally and Physically 2025 has been a slog and bloody hard work at times.
If you're a woman in her 40's and a man in his 50's then you'll know what I mean...ha!
Something hits you like an absolute tonne of bricks, and you have to learn to navigate through it, whilst maintaining everyday life.
But we did it!..just! And despite that we managed to have our most successful and busiest year ever at The Country Dwellers Flower Patch. And we couldn't be happier or prouder.
🌸We had the best Spring & Summer weather for years.
🌸The flowers arrived earlier at the beginning of July and went right through until November
🌸We took our van out on the road and brought our mobile florist shop to you
🌸We've done more Wedding this year than ever before
🌸We shared our passion by freelancing for other florists
🌸The flower shed workshop came to life
🌸We successfully lambed 3 beautiful ewe lambs
🌸The external work on our house finally got finished
🌸We spent more time with family & friends
🌸We re-branded and re-launched
What a year! Blimey! We're exhausted...ha!
It's very easy at times to focus on the negatives, but sometimes you just need to sit back and look at the positives.
Yes 2025 has been a struggle...but when I read above what we have done...it reminds me of what we can achieve even when we think life is at its hardest.
It's time to have a little rest.
We're still here and we're still at the end of the phone or socials for 2026 orders, but I think we might just take a couple of days off...ha ha!
